How often should I have my commercial elevator serviced?


Periodic maintenance is paramount in maintaining a smooth running elevator unit. Depending on the amount of use and traffic your particular elevator unit gets can determine how often a service visit is needed. We recommend scheduling monthly servicing to help keep the elevator in good running condition.


What if my elevator breaks down outside of of regular business hours?

Do I have to use my existing service company for my state testing?

 

The answer is no. Some contracts are worded in such a way as to make you think that you have to use them, but the truth is that it is violating anti-trust laws. Unless your contract specifically states that you are agreeing to use the same company you can shop elsewhere. Much like when you get your car serviced outside of the dealership, elevator testing using another service company outside of a service contract won't void the contract. Don't be pressured. We recommend reading your contract to see what is and isn't included.
